Job Description:
The Optometric Assistant is responsible for assisting the Optometrist with patient care and all other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
Assisting the Optometrist with patient care and all other duties as assigned.
Preparing patients for ophthalmic examinations and assisting the Optometrist with the examination process.
Filing patient charts and maintaining patient charts in the doctor's office.
Performing patient follow-up calls, answering telephones, and responding to emails.
Maintaining equipment in the doctor's office.
Assisting patients with visual testing.
Preparing contact lenses for patients by assisting in the office.
Cleaning and sterilizing ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
Performing general cleaning duties in the doctor's office such as cleaning examination equipment, cleaning windows, dusting, etc.
as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills:
Ability to multitask and stay organized.
Ability to work well with others in a team setting.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues both verbally and written.
Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks.
